FUEL SHIELD - Overview

Wireless automatic refueling solution that enables businesses to track individual drivers and vehicles remotely and prevent fuel theft. The system allows companies to eliminate unauthorized refueling, monitor authorized refueling, limit fuel usage per driver, calculate miles per gallon used, receive real-time odometer readings and fuel consumption statistics, and create timely and accurate automated preventive maintenance reports.

FUEL SHIELD is one of the most advanced wireless fuel management solutions avail able today. The system controls the refueling of vehicles via radio frequency, eliminating the need for expensive communication cables and hardware installations. It provides total control, monitoring, and recording of all fuel dispensed into vehicles at any facility where the FUEL SHIELD is installed.

With the FUEL SHIELD System, the refueling process is enabled only if all pre-set conditions are met. The system is programmed to control the type of fuel dispensed using radio frequency transmissions to verify the presence of the vehicle. The operator inserts the fuel nozzle into the correct fuel inlet to begin fueling. Refueling is possible only while the nozzle is in the tank. Removal of the nozzle stops the refueling process at once.

FUEL SHIELD can be operated simultaneously as a fully automated system without operator assistance, or as a system requiring a numeric keypad, contact key, or magnetic card input. A card reader with a keypad, contact key, chip reader, and LCD display is included for optional use with the system. Whether in the fully automated mode or as a system requiring data input, the date, time, hose number, product type, quantity delivered, and driver identification number are captured automatically in the fuel management computer via wireless communication.

FUEL SHIELD can maintain a list of up to 7,000 vehicles and/or manual codes that are authorized to access fuel at the site, as well as at least 1,364 backup transactions. Battery backup capable of maintaining configuration and transaction data is also available. No pedestal installation is required on the pump island. A complete Windows-based software package allows analysis and reporting on all fueling activities. The FUEL SHIELD software is fully customizable and will be adapted to meet the specific recording needs of the customer. Where networking capabilities are not available, FUEL SHIELD operates on remote communication equipment via standard dial-up phone lines or cellular network communication. The system is compatible with and can be included within GPS-based fleet monitoring software programs to be activated when desired.
